In the current rapidly evolving COVID-19 environment, NCI is focused on how we can continue to deliver high-performance compute and data services to the Australian research community.

The health and safety of our staff, contractors and visitors is paramount and NCI is adhering to the continuing advice issued by ANU to help minimise the impact of COVID-19. NCI will provide virtual options for all meetings with stakeholders and is implementing recommended social distancing procedures.

NCI’s systems and services are designed to be robust, and we are prepared for periods of remote operation now that our staff are required to work offsite. The University has declared a complete campus closure.

Operations of NCI systems and services will continue as normal.

As of 25 March 2020:

  • All staff will be working away from the ANU campus from Thursday 26 March, following the closure announced by the ANU Vice-Chancellor. All NCI systems continue to operate normally.
As of 23 March 2020:
  • NCI staff will be working remotely from Tuesday 24 March. All NCI systems are operating normally.

As of 18 March 2020:
  • HPC services: Continue to submit jobs as you normally would within your quarterly allocations. All queues will operate as normal.
  • Research data services: Continue to access data collections and data services as you normally would.
  • Virtual Research Environments: Continue to access Virtual Research Environments hosted at NCI as you normally would.

Any changes to operations at NCI will be announced through NCI email advisories and updates to this page.

The NCI Helpdesk remains the first point of contact for users and will continue to operate. If required, our expert helpdesk staff will be working remotely and will manage requests. As always, they can be contacted via help@nci.org.au.
