NCI is excited to see this week's ARC and NHMRC funding announcement by Senator the Hon Simon Birmingham, Minister for Education and Training. The funding from the Australian Research Council and National Health and Medical Research Council provides support for researchers all over the country, covering many different disciplines.
We are pleased to see so many NCI users receiving funding for their work, including Associate Professor Nerilie Abram for her work on climate change and rainfall, Professor Carola Vinuesa for her work on autoimmune diseases, and Dr Bernhard Mueller for his work on supernovae. NCI supports users from disciplines as varied as climate change, genomics and astrophysics through our integrated high-performance computing and data services. The combination of leading-edge computing infrastructure colocated with large collections of scientific and research data makes NCI the ideal environment for computationally- and data-intensive research.
Enabling research at the international cutting-edge is at the core of NCI's role in the Australian research community, and we are glad to see so much innovative research taking place. We look forward to assisting the successful grant recipients with their projects in the coming years.
