Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and, Technology, Jakarta, Indonesia and the National Computational Infrastructure (NCI Australia) representing the Australian National University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a collaborative partnership to develop and facilitate exchange of information in areas of high-performance computing and data management.

Under the MoU, the parties agree to exchange information and share best practices on HPC operations and eco-efficient data center operations, facilitate HPC-centric research collaborations and promote the development of high speed, big data transfer capabilities and technologies. MoECRT and NCI will explore mutual opportunities for additional regional collaboration in building high-performance computing capacity.

"We are delighted that both countries will soon embark on a journey together in this very important science and technology field in this digital era.  This MOU signifies an important milestone in the relationship between Indonesia and Australia," Professor Nizam, Director General, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and, Technology said.

NCI Director Professor Sean Smith noted that “this MoU is very timely as international engagements between NCI and prominent international supercomputing facilities ramp up. NCI and MoECRT have many common interests and challenges, and the collaboration under the MOU will further strategic aims of both parties as well as fostering greater regional collaborations.”
