Manager, Data Storage Services (G159-13MM)

The Data Storage Services Manager will lead the Data Storage Services team in managing storage operations, and will contribute to the development of strategies which service the mission of NCI in providing comprehensive and integrated high-end computing services.

Reporting to Associate Director (Services and Technologies) you will:
• Take a leading strategic role in the data storage design and planning
• Manage and mentor technical support staff
• Manage data storage operations

Skills & experience
• Experience in planning, configuring, deploying and maintaining a large-scale production storage environment
• Experience/knowledge of storage technologies, systems management, operating systems, cluster filesystem technologies, cloud storage technologies, filesystem integration into complex operating environments and high-performance networks (local/wide-area, storage, HPC).

NCI’s advanced computing infrastructure, comprising a petascale HPC system, a large-scale compute cloud (primarily for data-intensive services), and multi-petabyte high-performance storage, is funded through programs of the Department of Industry, Innovation, Climate Change, Science, Research and Tertiary Education, while its operations are sustained through the substantial co-investment by a number of partner organisations including ANU, CSIRO, the Australian Bureau of Meteorology, Geoscience Australia and a number of Australia’s research-intensive universities through the Australian Research Council.
