Scheduled Quarterly Maintenance – 2018 Q2
Start: Tuesday 3 April 2018 08:00 AEST (8am)
End: Tuesday 3 April 2018 18:00 AEST (6pm)
NCI systems, including Raijin, the Lustre file systems (/g/data1, /g/data2, /g/data3), massdata, and all virtual infrastructure, including Tenjin virtual machine instances, VDI and associated data services, will be offline for scheduled quarterly maintenance from 08:00 (8am) to 18:00 (6pm) AEST on Tuesday 3 April. All systems are expected to return to operational status by 6:00 pm AEST on 3 April.
Jobs on Raijin scheduled to run into or during the maintenance period will be held before the scheduled downtime and released when Raijin returns to operational status. Note that PBS Pro job flags can be used to register Raijin file system dependencies for your jobs. This can help PBS Pro to schedule your job to run when resources are available. NCI recommends using the options “#PBS -lother=gdataN” option (where N = 1, 2 or 3 to indicate the /g/data file system dependency) or “PBS -lother=massdata” in your job scripts which utilise these services.

Canberra Day – Monday 12 March (ACT)
Good Friday – Friday 30 March (all states and territories)

2018 Partner Scheme Allocations
NCI partner scheme managers are reminded to submit 2018 Q2 allocations to NCI User Support. Allocations for multiple projects can be provided in the following CSV format for convenience:
Note that the allocation is specified in SU, rather than KSU, in the CSV data. If Q1 allocations have not been provided, project allocations for your scheme will be set to match those from 2018 Q1. Unused allocations from 2018 Q1 cannot be carried forward to later quarters. Partner scheme allocations can be adjusted at any time during the quarter by contacting NCI User Services.
Raijin /short Usage
NCI encourages all users to archive or delete non-essential files in your project and user directories on Raijin /short. The /short file system is intended for short-term, temporary storage only. Files on /short are not backed up. Please contact NCI User Support if you require assistance identifying, archiving or cleaning up old or unneeded files in your /short directories.
